BLEWJOB’s Biggest Tournament Cash

on Aug22

Since I haven’t been getting much action recently, I’m going to dip back into the past and talk about my biggest tourney score. I decided to do this instead of continuing with the other blog post until the new episode of 2 Month 2 Million airs tomorrow night, as I feel it would be inappropriate to continue talking about the infamous Blewjob vs Krantz (aka Elderwand) match until then.

As most of you know, I am primarily a heads up player. Nevertheless, I will play the occasional tournament if I’m not getting that much action or if there are big tournaments going on. The biggest cash of my life thus far was in Poker Star’s SCOOP 6-max $500 buy-in. Out of over 1,600 players, I placed 2nd earning over $100,000.

The entire final table, I was always the short stack… Nevertheless, I somehow managed to maneuver my way into 2nd but was now facing the seemingly insurmountable challenge of a 7.5:1 chip deficit. I grinded my stack back up to the 2 Million chip mark and I was gaining momentum against my opponent. I was dealt AA and I consciously choose a line that I knew he would read as weakness…

At this point, Roach11 had about 6.5 Million chips and I’m at 2 Million. I know that if I double up here we’re almost even in chips. With momentum on my side and my extensive Heads Up experience, I know that after this pot I am positioned to win it all.

He raises preflop. I’m sitting there with A♠ A♦ and decide to disguise my hand strength and smooth call his bet. The flop comes out 2♦ 6♣ T♦. Holding the Ace of Diamonds, this is the perfect flop for me. I check and as expected he bets. I immediately check raise him and he flats me. The turn is 3♦. This card does not scare me the slightest.  I try to induce a bluff by checking and sure enough he falls for my trap. I wait a short moment and check raise all in and he snap calls me. The river is a 4♠ and I somehow just know that that card did me in.

Roach11 flips over 4♣ 4♦ … I had outplayed him perfectly but he rivered the miracle 5 outer for the win. Life is such sometimes.

Here are the final results/payouts of the Final Table:

Sweet article. Thanks Blewjob for posting it up! Keep the pictures coming too! And I didn’t see you on the last episode of 2 Month 2 Million, but you’ll be on the next one?

One hand, $30k. Not bad to have AA, but why not open the turn and push it? I know you were trapping, but in that situation with the diamonds, he could have had you beat with a few hands.

We were at the same table for a while and I noticed he read this line as very weak and knew he would shove very light.

Unlucky indeed. I personally like how you played it. Maybe b*tch betting/shoving turn would have gotten him off… but the point is you WANT a call!
